The Word of GOD

What is the word of GOD? How does the word of GOD affects the meaning of GOD to us and those who wants to follow him? Do we truly understand the word of GOD? #wordofgod

The word of God is an outlet through which God expresses his nature and character

and communicate his intentions and purpose to mankin

d

The Bible is a compendium (a collection of concise but detailed information about a particular subject, especially in a book or other publication).

Let's take a look at John 1:1-5 where it is clear that the “Word” or Logos is a reference to Jesus Christ.

Understanding the Word of GOD

Is CHRIST the Word of GOD?

He is also the Creator of the visible universe. "All things were made through him"--a phrase which describes the Logos as the origin of the entire creative activity of God .

The Logos is also the source of the intellectual, moral and spiritual life of man. "In him was life, and the life was the light of men." He is the light as well as the life

Because the Word became flesh, we have a high priest who is able to empathize with our weaknesses, one who has been tempted in every way, just as we are—yet He did not sin.

The Three(3) Dimensions that Defines the Word of GOD

The Logos,

Rhema and

The engrafted word.

Logos – (John 1:1-5) – The Logos is the written word of God made flesh in the

personality of Jesus Christ.

Logos is used in John 1:1 (NKJV). "In the beginning was the [logos] Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God" (John 1:1)

The scripture reveals the character and the methodology of GOD'S kingdom.

For example, Luke 4:32) says that, when Jesus taught the people, "they were amazed at his teaching, because his words [logos] had authority." The people were amazed not merely by the particular words Jesus chose but by His total message. When you see Jesus, you have seen the express nature of God and when you hear him you hear the intentions and purpose of God for mankind. When you know GOD he will give you stability in all ramifications. When a believer is not expose to scriptures he doesn’t have an idea of who God his.

Jesus was God among men. Divinity in Mortality.

However, the question is what kind of reception do you accord the Logos.

Rhema – (1Corinthians 2:10-13) – Rhema is the revealed word of God activated by

the Holy Spirit.

Rhema is a spoken word. "And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the [spoken] word of GOD" (Eph. 6:17 NKJV).

A rhema is a specific word which the Holy Spirit quickens in our hearts and minds at a specific time and for a specific purpose.

For example, in Luke 1:38 when the angel told Mary that she would be the mother of God’s Son, Mary replied, "Behold, I am the servant of the Lord; let it be to me according to your word [rhema].

He speaks this word to us in such a way so that our heart is filled with faith.

When you speak this word, things change! God’s Word does not return void or empty.

This rhema word from God provides you with a mighty sharp sword in your hand, by which you can mortally wound the works of the devil in your life. In fact, in several places in the New Testament we see that this is what Jesus did while in combat with the devil. When Jesus was tempted by Satan in the wilderness, He countered each temptation by speaking a "rhema" word. In Matthew 4:4, He said, "It is written, 'Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every [spoken (rhema)] word.' " Jesus spoke the written Word He needed for the situation. So a rhema word can be the spoken Word of God.

Here is how this works. When Almighty God initially spoke forth the Word from His mouth it was a single edged sword. But when you and I declare that same Word of God from our mouths, the second edge is added to the sword.(Hebrew 4vs12)

How do I get a Rhema word from God?

A rhema is a specific word in which the Holy Spirit quickens in our hearts and minds at a specific time and for a specific purpose. We receive a rhema word from God when the Holy Spirit specifically reminds us of a particular Bible verse or promise, and drops that “word” into our heart .It is the word God has spoken previously which is now being revealed to you as being spoken to you directly.

Galatians 1:12

"For either received it from man, nor was I taught it, but it came through the revelation of Jesus Christ. In other words, rhema is the word which the Lord speaks the second time. Rhema can happen when you come to a sudden revelation or deeper understanding of the word of GOD you have known or read several times. When you appreciate the word of God in your situation, circumstance or life, you are only laying hold to Rhema. RHEMA HAS TO BE PERSONAL. The Rhema of God avails for a searching and ready-to-receive heart.

Engrafted word - (James 1:21; 2 Cor. 3:3 KJV) – Permanently established word in

an individual which functions like an inborn asset in an exceptional manner.

The Engrafted word - Something was taking out from somewhere and planted in you and it becomes your own

The Relation of the Ten Commandments with the Engrafted Word

The ten commandments were engraved on two tablets of stones with the finger of GOD.

This is symbolic of the Spirit of God engraving GOD’s Word upon our hearts

today The Word of GOD is engraved on the human heart just as the Word was

engraved on two tablets of stone.

The two tablets are the two parts of the heart – the spirit and the soul.

Engrafting of God’s word STARTS at the new birth when we are born of the Word and are imparted with the divine nature in our spirits.

Summary:

We need the written Word as our foundation, but we also need the spoken Word (rhema) for direction. We have the written Word, to stand on. We have rhema, the spoken Word, so we know what to do and where to go.

Points to Remember:

Logos: we learn about God and know His ways, His salvation, and

His plan for mankind. Without the logos, we would have no way to know who God

is or how He operates. Jesus is the progenitor of the Logos.

Rhema: we have a further knowledge of God on a personal level and experience Him subjectively. The Holy Spirit is the activator of the Rhema.

Engrafted word, the word of God is inscribed in your heart and becomes part of your daily life. Through study obedience and application, the word is engrafted in our hearts.

We hardly make mistakes because the word of God directs us, sin stays far from us and we are never confused.
